One of the most effective ways to stimulate collagen production in the skin is with the use of microneedling. We use the Dr. Dermic GoldPen for this treatment. The Goldpen opens over 1200 microchannels per second which means more vitamins, proteins, fibroblasts and collagen will be stimulated during the treatment. The speed of the pen also means that the downcycle of the needles is reduced , therefore the needles spend less time in the skin resulting in even less chance of bruising or micro-tears.

A consent form will be provided on arrival to the treatment and any medical conditions and medications will be discussed.
Preparation: Clients must avoid the use of Retinol or Vitamin A products 7 days prior to treatment.
This treatment is done in conjunction with the skincare products that we use in the clinic. (ASAP, SkinCeuticals, Environ) The area is double cleansed and serum is applied before the treatment commences. The therapist will start by penetrating the skin at a low level and will increase the depth depending on client’s tolerance for it and based on the severity of the skin concern being treated. After the procedure a cooling mask is applied to the area followed by SPF.
Clients will see a noticeable difference in their skin even after one session but for optimum results we recommend a course of 3 to 6 treatments spaced two weeks apart.
Aftercare: Client is advised to relax at home for the rest of the day and avoid any heat treatments for 24 to 48 hours such as gym, hot showers and any other strenuous activities. Makeup and perfumed products should be avoided for 24 to 48 hours also. SPF should be worn at all times.

Clients will experience some degree of discomfort during the treatment i.e. scratchiness, itchiness, irritation, stinging and heating. It is also normal after treatment for the area to appear red with slight swelling for up to 48 hours, some clients also experience some peeling after 24 to 48 hours but it is important to remember reactions vary for everyone.
Skin will appear fresher and brighter after one treatment but optimum results are visible after 3 months.
