Electrolysis is a safe and effective method of permanent hair removal. It can be used to target hairs on the face including the lip and chin and other small areas of the body. Apilus X-CEL Pro is the system that we use in Urban Sanctuary. Electrolysis is suitable for white, ginger and grey hairs and best suited to sparse sporadic hair.
Electrolysis differs from other hair removal methods because it tackles each hair on an individual basis.

A consultation is not required prior to treatment but it is advised if you are unfamiliar with the process.
The area to be treated is double cleansed and the probe is inserted into the follicle of each hair that is to be treated. Treatment can be slightly uncomfortable but as the area to be treated is sparse it is bearable. Treatment lengths will vary depending on the number of hairs to be treated but generally they take from 10 to 20 minutes per treatment.
Treatments are recommended every 4 to 6 weeks depending on hair growth and the number of sessions will vary per client.
Electrolysis hair removal targets each individual hair follicle with a very fine, disposable and sterile probe combined with direct current which eventually destroys the hair follicle leaving it no longer able to reproduce.
The treatment is safe and effective
Clients do experience a slight tingling sensation on the area being treated.
For light or fine hair results can be felt after 3 to 4 sessions.
Generally, clients need 9 to 12 months of treatments at 3 week intervals. Session quantity varies depending on the size of the area to be treated and the hair type.
